Circa 2011. Youth Camp-Turner Falls, Oklahoma. Eighteen year old Zachary Thayer celebrating his last year as a camper alongside his “twin”.

This is one of the few pictures I could find from this time of my life, but the memories of going to camp every summer will last forever. Seven years later, I’m now serving at a camp to help teenagers have “the greatest week of their life”.

In a few hours, hundreds of teenagers will converge onto Lake Williamson for Breakaway Teen Camp. And I have the privilege of telling stories from the week through video, both the goofy and inspirational. My prayer for this week is for this week to be different, life-changing, and an experience which the campers will remember forever.

That’s how my weeks as a camper were growing up. In my last podcast, I talked about one of my favorite memories of camp. This story is not serious at all, just one of those memories which makes me smile every time I think about it.
