Usually when we think about world-changers, a certain kind of person comes to mind.
.
The one with millions of followers on social media.
.
The best-selling author.
.
The powerful speaker.
.
The one who travels the world and does good wherever they go.
.
Everyone knows, loves, and wants to be them.
.
While it would be cool to have this kind of lifestyle, you don’t need a massive platform to make a deep impact for the Kingdom of God.
.
And I know this because of my Mom, Angela Thayer.
.
Since she was born 50 years ago today, Mom has faithfully loved the Lord and everyone she encounters.
.
For 25 years, she was a wonderful pastor’s wife who believed in her husband’s calling and supported him however she could.
.
Together my parents raised my brother and I, so that we could become the men we are today.
.
Since my Dad’s passing, Mom has continued to love and serve in many roles: Nathaniel’s caregiver, church small group leader, prayer warrior, gourmet chef, teacher, and wisdom-giver.
.
To know her at all is to be inspired by her.
.
And as I reflect on my life, especially the years since my Dad’s passing, the image I get of my Mom is an anchor.
.
Through this world’s tragedies and heartbreaks, she’s been an unmoving anchor staying steady to who God made her to be.
.
I’m thankful God chose Angela Thayer to be my mother and friend.
.
Happy Birthday Mom.
.
I love you.
