It begins today: the last week of my 20’s.

Over the next few days, I’m gonna share things I’m glad I did in my 20’s & things I wish I did.

Things I’m glad I did in my 20’s (part 1): I’m glad I got heartbroken.

During my 20’s, I’ve had failed “talking stages”, a few awkward first dates, and a couple devastating breakups.

Within four months of graduating college, I got let go from my first job & my Dad died.

All these experiences were painful, but I’m thankful for each one of them.

Why? Because I drew closer to God & the people He’s put into my life. Relationships that will stand the test of time have kept me afloat.

Bitterness and cynicism have paid leases in my heart from time-to-time.

But thanks to the love I receive from these relationships, I’m able to find the courage to evict them out of their residence & instead give hope, joy, & purpose a home in my heart.

All three of these are Jesus’ “plus ones” whenever He’s invited to the party.

As Hopper wrote to Eleven in Stranger Things 3:

“When life hurts you, because it will, remember the hurt. The hurt is good.”
